Seed set on Amorphophallus paeoniifolius .

I planted out a handfull of small tubers of this species not long after I shifted onto my own property here in the wet tropics in Queensland in Australia . It is one of the native species here , and also grows in many other countries nearbye.

I was amazed at how well these grew . Many had several stems at once and multiplied well , after mulching and feeding up with frequent fertilizing . I dug up many and replanted the enormous tubers in other spots as they were way to crowded after only 2 years growth. One was 50 cms dia. Many of them flowered this year , well nearly all of them ! Very smelly in the front yard ! I collected pollen from a few and was successful in getting seed set on 2 of them. Really looking foward to them maturing and growing up . '
