Candi should not be a problem at all......bone hardy and insanely easy to grow!! Ones like griffithii are seriously difficult to grow.....I send them out to dozens and dozens of people every year along with many other Himalayans.....people tend to think these are as easy as the Japanese species and some of the Chinese...they are NOT....I usually hear from people that they flowered and then they lost them. I find speciosum to be easy, but I dig them in the fall. I've never grown the others as I do not find them appealing so I can not help there. You should really get info from somone in your zone and in your state since any other advice is just not of much value in my own opinion. Zone 5 where you are may be very different from someone elses zone 5.....of course, what some of these despise is heat.....like griffithii for example so if you have a scorching summer in combination with cold in the winter you would be up against it.
