Hi! Welcome back!
There are loads of places you can visit in Thailand and Laos - although the upper half of the country is in the dry season currently.
Near to Bangkok you can visit Chatuchak weekend market - they have a huge section selling plants.
There is also Nong Nooch Tropical Park in PattayaA national park close by to BKK is Khao Yai (2-3hrs drive)
ChiangMai there is the Botanical Garden. Ask around there and they will be able to tell you how to get there. All over the north you can go trekking in the various national parks e.g. Doi Inthanon, Doi Chiang Dao, Doi Suthep,...the list goes on.
In Laos - I dont know where you are going, but in Luang Namtha area (northern laos) there is their so called National Park as well, and is worth visiting. From that town there are loads of treks to see both ethinc groups and forest. Highly recommended as I just came back from one!

Hi momiji. Thanks for the great info! I will definately be visiting some of the gardens you mentioned. We went to the weekend market last time and loved it. I remember seeing many orchids but will be on the lookout for other stuff this time...oooh I am so excited. I will be sure to post some pictures when I return. Thanks again! ~Amy

when going Bkk for plant visit "Klong sip haa" , a soi from Road 305 to Nokhon ..
big place for plants
and if you visit chatuckat market: go whensday or thursday - spezial days for plants.
