Asian Radishes

My big interest in Asian crops is root crops. Roots are low in calories. I have grown many Asian radish cultivars in the last 10 years and many of them are my main fall crops.

It would be great to hear from Asian gardeners about radishes they grow. I am especially interested in the larger radishes weighing 500 grams to 10 or more kilograms. I eat about 150 kilograms per year.

I have grown 10 pound (5 kg) roots of what is known as China Clestial 50 years ago. It is now called White Chinese Winter radish.

It seems to me that the center of large radish use is in Pakistan and other countries of central Asia, but I am not aware of any radishes of that region being grown in USA. I am a serious radish breeder and would appreciate any information about cultivars and how you use them.
