 o
viable Durian seeds?

I've read that durian seeds are only viable for 9 to 11 days after it is harvested or drops. I know that the ones in the stores are from thailand and shipped frozen whhich makes the seeds unlikely to be viable. Does anyone know of anyplace i could get a viable seed. I prefer the malaysian over the thailand durian.

RE: viable Durian seeds?

It's not likely you'll see a viable Malaysian durian seed outside Malaysia. Not impossible, but unlikely, as Malaysia doesn't export their durians very far due to harvesting after fruit drop. They don't even make it to Hong Kong.

Not sure if the unthawed frozen Thai durian seeds are viable or not. But I'd give it a try. The non-frozen seeds are definitely viable.

And durian seeds should stay viable for longer than 9 to 11 days as long as they are kept moist.
