Question about Edamame

I have never grown any kind of soybean before. I know that many soybean varieties are latitude sensitive. However, I have acquired "Tohya" seeds from the Botanical Interests brand and it says on the packet "Tohya is a short-season variety perfect for growing anywhere in North America...". Would I be better off to find a variety specifically suited for my latitude? I am at 40Â° N with very hot/dry summers.

40 degrees N would be northern Japan or Beijing.

A quick search of the net suggested that the latitude issues with soybeans was in reference to amount of daylight and blooming and that certain varieties had been developed which weren't sensitive to the amount of daylight to make them acceptable for broader latitude use. I'm guessing that the variety you've chosen is one of those, so it should be fine for you in terms of latitude.
