Hi your move does sound exciting and good luck to you. You will most lilely be able to find everything you want at the market, as for tomatoes, you can try taking a packege of seeds with you. I doubt that they would take them from you, so its worth the try. As for Figs you can ask around, I'm sure that you can find what you want, That guy that is selling them, you might want to ask him if he would be willing to sell you a small tree. When you get settled in please let use know how things are going if you have a computer hook up. I'm sure that there are many who would love to trade for a few vegetable seeds that are being grow locally.

You'll find all you want at Jatujak market so I wouldn't worry about a thing. If they don't have it, just ask them (you may have to find out what their Thai names are ie. gardenia is 'dok put' (or dok phut depending on how you want to write it:-)

sa-wa-dee-ka! how exciting! i've only visited once,and we did make it to chatuchak...i think "winsorw" is right about forgetting all about the figs once you get there. and everything old will be new again, nothing taste the same, everything is fresh and so delicious! the sticky rice and mango is so much better there, and there's nothing like curry made with fresh coconut milk! i'm so jealous, i left my heart there several years ago...enjoy!
