Your tulips will stand no chance in the outdoor heat of Phuket. As you have ordered your bulbs already - you would have to give them cold treatment for a few mths (or until you see their tips poking out from the soil). They will then need to be grown in air conditioning rooms as any heat higher than 21C will weaken their stems.

They are grown outdoors in the mountains of northern thailand though.

However, if you like temperate spring bulbs, your best bet would be to grow Hycainths as they can last in the heat better.

There are a few kinds that do okay in my zone 7 in GA. The common type won't do well here, though. I don't have the name in front of me- or remember...but, they are a wild type, quite short, and bright red, with wide leaves.
