WANTED: winter melon

To all,

I'm looking for some winter melon seeds for my 20 month old daughter. I live in MD and near where I live I'm having a hard time finding winter melon. Becky has eczema / food allergies and I was told feeding her winter melon will help her thur the difficult time of being itchy. She is allergic to barley, wheat, eggs, diary, peanut and etc. I don't have much to trade I can send SASE.

Any instruction or suggestion you can send me would be great.

Thanks

Wendy

RE: WANTED: winter melon

You mean wax melon? I have celiac disease, but I never heard that winter melon would help. I got the small wax melon seeds this year, haven't ever grown it but have seen them here. My plants have done fine, only it looks like they are daylength sensitive, which would have them barely done in time for frost, if then. Does anyone know if wax melon is daylength sensitive, or if there are strains that will bloom earlier? Thanks! Donna
