Gardening in Sparks, NV

Hello everyone,
I am new to gardening, and just moved to the Reno,NV area. After years of apartment living, I finally have a place to garden. I am new to gardening in this part of the country, and don't even know what my zone is. I think 5a or 5b but not sure. This year I want to grow all asian vegetables in my garden. Anyone else living in Sparks, NV who can give me advice on what asian vegetables can be grown here?
I'm open to planting any asian veggie, but am particularly interested in growing bitter melon, okra, yard long beans etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions.
