Are you saying this is an Asian vegetable? Have you eaten it and how do you like to prepare it?

Maureen, if there were prizes for brevity, you would win one! It helps to have some clues. Where is the tree growing? What part of it do you use for curry? Where did you learn of this use? A closer photo of branches and flowers would help. At present I am thinking family Myrtaceae, possibly genus Syzygium, based on opposite leaves, bronze new growths and apparently terminal panicles of flowers. But there are other possibilities. And even Syzygium is a genus of around 1000 species.

I was thinking of Murraya koenigii or possibly Clausena sp. but indeed, more information and close-up of foliage, inflorescences etc... would help!

yup it is Murraya Koenjii aka curry leaves. used a lot in Indian cooking. I would love to get any seedlings or seeds if you have . usually they grow under the tree. thanks |

I found a place that sells all kinds of seeds, including these kind. I've never bought from them, but they have that plant there, so... :D Link is below..
Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.tradewindsfruit.com/curry.htm

Sorry to disillusion you, but the plant in the picture is NOT Murraya koenigii. That has pinnate leaves arranged alternately on the stem.

:D I apologize. :P I just saw that it was a curry plant, so there ya go. I'm new, gimme a break. :D

There's a lady on the Asian garden forum here that has the seeds that you guys are talking about. Her email is: dsbdel@hotmail.com She said to email her if you want seeds. She sends them fed-ex, so they arrive in 2 or 3 days, because you have to get them fresh or they won't grow. http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/asiangarden/msg1020591221967.html?2 ~ D
