Delicious 'chinese vegetable' anyone know what this is?

I was eating at the Dynasty Chinese buffet the other day and I happened to try something new, simply called "chinese vegetable." It was sliced into square strips about 3 inches long and 1/4 inch thick; similar to the common potato stick snack. Does anyone know what this could be, as it was delicious and I want to enjoy it without paying for a buffet.

It is taro stick. You can buy the taro at a oriental store, peel them like potatoes and fry. they costs a lot more than sweet potato or reg. potato. good luck!! Bellie
