hi,, i am trying to grow ridged cee gwa for the first time, i am starting them inside and plan to move them to the field when the soil warms, i have a few just coming up, they are one to a 4 inch pot, in an unheated green house but on heating cables(aprox.70F.) what sort of problems or tendencies should i be aware of? i plan to treat them as if they were cukes, other than i have started them a month or so earlier. hope someone can share their experience.

Hi. my experience with cee gwa is that they need a lot of water, so plant them where you can easily water them. They will need to be trellised, and will grow quite tall, although you can "guide" them to an eight foot high rack. The trouble I have had was that birds love their blossoms, and ants love their nectar. Since they are a very warm weather plant, don't plant them out until you know there will be no frost, or protect them carefully. Good luck!

I have cee gwa in my garden this year the first time, there are a few 8 to 10 inches fruit there already and I've already harvest it and it is so tasty. When I saw a lot of baby fruit on the vine I was so happy that I am going to have move than 30 of them, but this morning, I found some of them them are turning yellow. i don't know what's going on. I know disease seldom bother cee gwa, so I am not sure what's wrong. the leave seem green. Anyone can give me some tips on it? Thanks in advance. -Karen
