perilla seedlings

I can't seem to get my green perilla to germinate. Years ago I had incredible plants in Colo., but now in Utah it is not working for me. And I need them bad! Can anyone tell me where I can buy some seedlings for this Spring? Thanks in advance. TS

Exactly how are you trying to germinate them )and what do you need them for)? Do you have more seeds?

Thaisapa, I just looked at your posting because of the perilla volunteers showing up in our garden tunnel. (I don't know how they are able to come back year after year. Can't remember when we planted the original seed and haven't noticed that we've let many flower.)

I'm hundreds if not a thousand miles north or you but the place to ask your question about Utah garden centers is on the Rocky Mountain Gardening forum.

RE: perilla seedlings

I read somewhere that perilla seeds can be difficult to germinate if they are fresh, just the opposite of practically all other kinds of seeds. So I bought some this year and put them away for future use, maybe next year or the year after.
