Asparagus growing

Dear friends,

I am Mani Nair from Mumbai, India. I am interested in growing asparagus and seeds are available in the nearby nursery. My question is - Is it possible to grow asparagus in a pot? Which season is best suitable for its growth. Here in Mumbai from June till september it rains heavily and then it is mild winter for two months and summer starts. What care I should take to get good plants. How much light it requires? Please reply.
