| About ten years ago I grew Malabar Spinach of a different form than what I've been able to find recently but I can't remember where I got it. The stems are tender to about 1/2 inch thick, which will typically be only the last 8-12 inches of the vine tips but carry leaves up to 4 inches across. In a whole season, the plant only gets about 3 feet in diameter with many new tips radiating out and sticking up from it. We only picked once a week and it required no support. I tried the green variety, thinking I'd found what I had before but it grew over my tomatoes and created a snarl I couldn't keep up with, since it's so tedious to collect a useful amount of food from the vining types. Does anybody know where I can get some seed like this? |
