From my experience "Guar" does not transplant well. I direct sow them in the soil in mid May or towards end of May---that is when temps gets little warm here in NJ. I have had success all the time---except by the time they produce pods it is beginning of August or mid of August. Yellowing of leaves may mean lack of nitrogen or even could be transplant shock.

I have sown few directly into the ground today.
As an experiment, I tried few direct sow few days ago.
They have germinated and seem OK so far.
Fingers crossed!! As it is my favorite veggie.
Also, I had okra last year on that spot. Do you think I need to add
Nitrogen there? I had added spagnum moss, cow manure
with some miracle grow garden soil in march. I live in Dallas metro area.
