I don't have pictures, but most gourds leaves are similar.
Especially, bottle, swan, snake gourds are almost identical. Also, these gourds have white flowers that open after the sun goes down or the the sky is heavily overcast and cloudy.
All ornamental gourds have yellow flowers that open during the day, just like squashes.Ornamental gourds have bigger leaves, like squash. One more thing: Probably you know that all cucurbitas have separate male and female flower.The female flowers have a tiny fruit under it, which when polinated will grow, otherwise it will fall off. Even from this tiny fruit you can tell what it is. For example, a birdhouse(bottle) gourd should look like a bottle gourd but very small.
Most ornamental gourds have some color and patterns from eaerly on, while those with white flower are plain and light green. |
