Is French Sorrell same as Gongura used in some Indian food preparations?

RE: French Sorrell

French Sorrell is not at all like Gongura. However it is also a little tangy in taste and is very soft when cooked. Gongura's family is totally different. I have French Sorrell in my garden. It comes back every year on its own. It is a perennial. I live in Bowie, Maryland. I use it early spring as a leaf vegetable in my cooking. I saw your garden pictures. They are very beautiful.
