urd beans

can anyone tell me if urd beans (vigna mungo) ,also called black grams, are self-pollinating? the flowers look more open--like those of scarlet runner beans, which need insect pollination; than those of green beans or peas, which are more closed. i'm thinking that's maybe why they aren't productive--(b/c the US honeybee population has been devastated by mites.)

They are self pollinating as other legumes are.
