Why is my Luffa split

Would you tell you what might be the causes for the splitting of my first luffa? It is not even 4" long (it looks big in the picture though)

Churn one cupful of yogurt in a gallon of water ( to make a buttermilk like solution) to feed the plant.This has worked for my plants.
