| A few months ago, I bought a serving of something pickled in an Asian market. It came in a small round disposable plastic container with a lid. A private vendor must of made it and sold it individually in the store.
The "pickle" consisted of primarily small green leaves (I am certain it is not a form of mustard green - these leaves were really small, shaped like clovers, could of been a vine-like vegetable, chopped up), and the crunchiest young green melon. I was told it was a type of Asian melon (Thai Long Muskmelon). Also, there were traces of fresh thinly cut lemon grass in the pickle. I was told the lemon grass is cut and usually mixed in after the pickling process is done and is optional.
Can anyone identify the green vegetable used in this pickling? I know this is such a vague description. I'm hoping someone has come across such a rare pickling treat to know what I am talking about. |
