My chinese friend gave me several germinated seeds and I planted one. It resulted in a forest of fig like leaves and lots of male floweres then later on the periphery of the numerous vines female flowers. I had to keep triming back the tips or it would have taken over the garden, which is very large. we ended up with a crop of 17 12lb each Shark Fin winter melon. The shark fins are delicious with chinese mushroom, water chestnuts and dried shrimps (har mie).

Next year I am not sure whether I want them to take over my garden patch and crow out my Pak Choi
