Malabar Spinach as a shade cloth?

Hi Gardeners,

First time poster here. I'm also new to gardening and thought this would be the best place to start. I was wondering if it would be reasonable to use Malabar Spinach as a shade over my future beds to provide my greens some relief from our south florida heat. I just scored some cement reinforcing wire at no cost to me and thought it would be perfect to use for shadehouse with the Malabar Spinach. Yes or no?

You would have to plant the vines very close together. I don't know if it would work or not. Mine didn't produce many leaves this year for some reason. Maybe a Japanese noodle bean instead?
