I was hoping to try and grow an Asian variety of pumpkin/squash/gourd in my small Seattle garden. I would need to trellis it, since I don't really have space to let something sprawl around. Anyways, I really wish that I could grow kabocha, but I don't know if it would really do well here in zone 7b/8 without taking extraordinary steps (long-term growing tunnel, etc.). Has anyone in the pacific NW grown this or other Asian pumpkins/gourds? Thanks for the advice...
