luffa never flowered

last year I managed to grow a few cee gwa in an unheated greenhouse. this year i grew some seeds that i took out of a cee gwa/luffa fruit in costa rica, they sprouted fine and grew vigorously some 20 ft on the ground and up the frames,,,,they never had a single flower! whats happening with that? thanks in advance

It is possible the fruit you took the seeds from was from a hybrid plant. Therefore you can't expect the seeds to grow into a plant that will produce fruit. Hence the necessity for anyone who grows hybrids, to continue to purchase seeds in the future, because the seeds from a hybrid don't grow true to the parent plant.

yes i understand about second generation hybrids not be true to their parents,,,,these plants did not produce any flowers, from 20 seed/plants.
