There are different varieties of okra, and the bhindi dishes made in India are probably different varieties. In the US we often substitute what is commonly grown here, but it is nice to grow different varieties. The burgundy okra you can probably trade for, but the link below has some other varieties you will not find on seed exchanges.

Anyone has experience growing okra in a container. I live in zone 5, so I have smaller growing season for this heat loving plant. If I could grow them in a container, that could accelerate its growth and production.
