Hello,

Your azaleas are beautiful. Can you tell me what are of Vietnam you are in? I visit Vietnam on a regular basis and have seen many beautiful gardens but don't remeber seeing any azaleas.

Hello Bruce
I'm in Dalat, a highland city 300 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. Azaleas can be grown only in 2 places in Vietnam: Bach Ma - a remote resort, 40 km north of Danang in the central, and Dalat where I have a home. I grow other flowers and plants usually found in temperate regions.
Have you visited these two places? They're cool regions with temperature of 60-80 F all the year round.
Glad to know you.

HI Xuan,
I live in Bangkok Thailand and i have been growing a few pots of the same azaleas as yours for the past 8 years now. The are about 1.5m wide and nearly 1.7m tall. They grow no problem in the heat here, but the only thing is that they dont bloom as well as they do up in northern thailand.

I believe what we both have is a very common azalea found in this region and southern china. Dont know if it is R.simsii or not.
