Chinese Garden at National Arboretum

The demise of the Glenn Dale Azalea Hillside at the National Arboretum may be helped or exacerbated by the new Classical Chinese Garden being built at the Arboretum. Details of the new garden are posted at:

U.S.-China Chinese Garden Project at the U.S. National Arboretum

Everyone is invited to join members of the Azalea Society and Rhododendron society on a joint field trip to the Arboretum on Tuesday, April 26. It will be in the middle of the day, about 10:00 AM till 2:00 PM, so we avoid rush hour traffic. That is the week when the early Glenn Dales are usually coming into peak bloom. Come join us if you can or see them on your own. If we are not successful in saving the azaleas, this could be the last chance to see them. I have posted details on savetheazaleas.org.
