Pruning Azaleas

Hello, I was wondering is it to late in the year to prune back my azaleas. Its Feb. 23rd. The 4 plants I have are only about 4 years olds, 2 ft tall and 2-3 feet wide. Last summer we had a drought & looked puny at time but seem to be fine now. They are a bit wide for the areas they reside. Can someone advise?

The flowers for this spring's blooms have already formed. It is best to prune just AFTER flowering. For you that would be April or May.
