It is now easier to Help Save The Azaleas

Most of you are aware of savetheazaleas.org . It describes the US National Arboretum's intent to destroy over 10,000 Glenn Dale Azaleas that form one of Washington, DC's prime attractions each spring. They are going to spend money to destroy this collection which is maintained by volunteers. It makes absolutely no sense.

Some of you have been putting off adding your voice to the cries of indignation and protest because it was difficult to find the right people to write to. It is easy now.

On savetheazaleas.org under the "How To Help" section, I now have 3 separate sections:

1) A 'click here' to create one email addressed to the USDA administrators.

2) An 'enter your zip here' to get to a site where you can send emails to the president, your 2 senators, and your representative.

3) Another 'click here' to allow you to contact newspapers and magazines both nationally and locally, 5 at a time.

The 2nd and 3rd options are powered by lobbyists for retirees (I am a retiree), but the emails we write ourselves will be just what we write.
