Azalea 'Red Ruffles' hardiness question

I saw Azalea 'Red Ruffles' being offered at a local Home Depot last year, and it was rated 'zone 9' on the tag. Then, this season, there they were again, but this time the tag says 0-10F. So, if anyone is familiar with this azalea, how much cold can it really take? I'm in zone 7 so we occasionally get to 0F. I kept it in the garage over winter and it's in full bloom now, but it would be nice if I could put it in the ground.

Thanks!

There are 4 different azaleas called Red Ruffles.

'Red Ruffles' or 'Redwings' Brooks evg az, zone 8
'Red Ruffles' Rutherford evg az, zone 7a
'Red Ruffles' Southern Indian evg az, zone 9
'Red Ruffles Variegated' Southern Indian evg az, zone 9

Steve,

Good grief. How do I know which I have? I guess I'll just throw it in the ground and see if it lives!

Mine seems to have 'double' blossoms. That is, the a blossom within a blossom (hose-in-hose) and the edges are frilly. Flower color is a very hot pink. Leaves sort of look like the Belgian indica type. I guess it could be a Rutherford hybrid though there was nothing on the tag about that.

OK lets see how that fits with the different Red Ruffles:

'Red Ruffles' or 'Redwings' Brooks evg az, zone 8
strong red, semidouble, ruffled

'Red Ruffles' Rutherford evg az, zone 7a
strong red, semidouble, hose-in-hose
This is the plant Monrovia sells as 'Red Ruffles' here is their photo:

'Red Ruffles' Southern Indian evg az, zone 9
red, hose-in-hose

'Red Ruffles Variegated' Southern Indian evg az, zone 9
leaves variegated

They probably are all ruffled or they wouldn't be named 'Red Ruffles'

So it sounds like they must be very similar except for hardiness.

Here's a pic of mine. The color is a bit deeper red than is seen here. Odd that they all are described as being similar -- except for hardiness. Well, I have a warm microclimate to plant it in. so we'll see how it does!
