They'll come back (the original plant). I don't believe that you'll be able to root the broken branches. You can try forcing them but again, unless it was a real 'early' bloomer that was just about ready to go (eg mucronulatum, dauricum, etc), it probably won't flower.

I had a similar situation some 3 years ago (had a roof job that entailed a tearoff (of 2 skins). Roofers only mangled one plant of literally dozens of am. azaleas, lepidotes, mountain laurels, etc that were in the foundation, with only a rh. calendulaceum (seed from Pound Ridge, W. Virginia) that was taken down almost to ground level. Initially heartbroken, as I love this species (even though they're not fragrant), but I looked at it from a big picture stanpoint........you gotta break some eggs to make an omlette, and in thinking back, the workers actually tried their very best through that 3 day job and to have but one get crushed wasn't so bad.

Plant has recovered nicely and there are a half dozen nice buds on a now 18" plant. Patience will see you through this.

Thanks Birdsong --I'd swear this plant hasn't grown more than an inch in the last three years --iwaiting for it to regrow will probably use up every ounce of patience I've got!
