What type of azalieas to plant?

I have a full-sun (literally all day) area of the yard where I want to do an azalea hedge. Previously I had roses there, but this bed is by a pool and sometimes would scratch someone playing near the pool. So I made a rose garden in the front, transplanted the roses there. So the bed is now empty.

We are in the Texas Gulf Coast area.

I heard that Encore azaleas bloom twice a year. Are they a good choice? Most of the azaleas I see are pink, but I am wondering if they come in any other colors such as red or coral. And if I do choose a different color, does that affects the hardiness of the plant or disease resistance and such.

And suggestions are appreciated!
