There's no reason why it can't be moved now as long as its kept well watered in its new spot. Will it bloom as well as it might have without being moved? Impossible to tell. Moving right after bloom, but before new growth emerges is probably best if you want to be sure of flowers this spring.

I'd move it right now. I'm not sure that moving it immediately after bloom before the new growth emerges would be the best option. Perhaps I'm incorrect, but I'd imagine that no matter how good a ball you dig, you're going to leave some of the roots behind. The new growth will need all the water it can get and if moved prior to that, the new growth and, for that matter, the next years flowers could be adversely affected.

Ok, thank you! I'll move it today. This is just the info I needed. I just didnt want to really hurt it. I know "they" wait all year to do their blooming and I didnt want to kill it or anything! lol

Sure, just make sure you keep it watered after transplanting. A little fertilizer with mycorrihizae wouldn't hurt either

The best course for a large azalea is to root prune now and then move after it blooms. But moving now should be OK. Fertilizing is not a good idea. It adds an additional stress. A slow release fertilizer low in nitrogen would be OK, but no chemical fertilizers with nitrogen. Most any azalea fertilizer with mycorrhizae would be a good organic fertilizer, but the word "little" is important.

Did it bloom after you moved it?

As a former landscaper who spent several years working at nurseries I'd say move it now. The worst time to move azaleas and rhododendrons is when the new growth is longest. It can wilt and is very vulnerable to some die back if not watered and, or temporarily shaded. The damage is mostly cosmetic.
