They don't look too bad. I'd cut out the sections that are obviously dead and then let them go. If you're talking about relocating them, I'd probably wait until fall if at all possible. You don't want to go moving an already stressed plant.

Thanks for the response. Would I cut out the sections with damaged leaves as well or the dead sections?

Cut out the dead portions as Sequoiadendron4 wrote, but not the areas with damaged leaves - the wood itself in these areas is obviously alive. The legginess is probably the result of too little light. Pinching the new growth toward the bottom of the plant after it's moved will increase the bushiness at the base, eventually.

Rhododendrons are very easy to move. If you're willing to keep it well watered, there's really no reason to wait until fall. Prepare the new site in advance, cut around the shallow root mass with a spade, gently pry up as you go, slide onto a tarp, and drag to the new location.
