| For some years now, I've been looking for a source for the rhododendron variety Nodding Bells. This was an Amateis cross of catawbiense x forrestii v. repens x griersonianum sold by the now defunct Baldseifen Nursery in NY. I grew it for a number of years and really liked the low downward arching habit and bright red campanulate bloom. My one plant was split in two by an ice laden apple tree branch. It limped along for a while then finally died before I was able to propagate more from cuttings.
If anyone knows of a source for this variety, plants or cuttings, I'd love to know about it. |

| I don't know of anyone that still grows it. That tells me something. |
