R. flammeum 'Scarlet Ibis'

I've got 5 1/2 wooded acres - thinner since Hurricane Katrina - full of native azaleas, like r. canescens, r. austrinum, r. serrulatum, r. alabamense, and hybrids and cultivars of all these. I planted an r. flammeum 'Scarlet Ibis' years ago, and it didn't grow much at all - it's still small. It finally bloomed for the first time, and the orange coloring is so intense, you can see it from a great distance. As bright as many of my r. austrinums are, none are THIS bright!
