New Rhodie has a little bark scratched off...

Hi,

Sorry I don't have a pic, but I just noticed a quarter-sized area of rubbed off bark on the rhodie I bought 2 days ago. Not sure if I purchased it that way, or if it somehow happened in transit to my home.

Is there anything I can do to protect this area from diseases and pests? How quickly should I expect it to heal?

Thanks!

If the area of injury is less than about 25 percent of the circumference of the stem, do nothing, just let it heal naturally. There shouldn't be any lasting damage.

Thanks. Not sure, but maybe I'll just let nature take its course.
