R. prinophyllum or R. canescens

Husband blew all the tags off during an overzealous leaf blowing debacle :(

I know I have both these species of native azaleas but am uncertain which is which. Blooming deep pink in early May with an almost cinnamon fragrance.

Which is this?

RE: R. prinophyllum or R. canescens

Prinophyllum. Canescens blooms earlier, the blossoms are usually paler in color. Spicy fragrance of prinophyllum is usually likened to cloves.
