I have a 4 year old girard renee michelle that has grown and flowered beautifully every year until now. I am gardening on a rooftop terrace in NYC in containers. The buds and leaves looked normal in late winter/early spring but stopped growing just as the buds started turning pink, but before swelling to bloom. A couple of branches are normal. I thought at first it was just slow, but it seems to have stopped.

Here are a few pictures of the affected branches and normal branches and also a picture from last June after blooming. (Lower left of the photo.) I have other azaleas blooming now and a white rhododendron with flowers just starting to emerge. Any help is greatly appreciated!
