Massacre aftermath from Marauding Rabbits
I'm trying very hard to be sympathetic, I really am. I understand how brutal the natural world can be, and how a long Minnesota winter means little bunnies go hungry. But, I ask, why did they choose to gnaw on my rhododendrons?!!! Naively, I thought they turned up their twitching little noses at this shrub, but as you can see from the photos, they not only tolerated them, they devoured them and came back again and again. Lesson learned. I'll be more protective next winter, but until then.... does any one know what I should do in the meantime in terms of helping them heal? Do I prune? Do I wait it out? How long will it take before they're not so decimated looking? Additional info: these were planted about two summers ago and they are north facing with only morning sun.
