Droopy Rhododendron

I have two Rhododendron - Purpureum Elegans that I planted within the last three weeks.

They are planted about 15 feet a part, between oaks, sycamores and dogwoods, in an area that's been mulched for over 10 years.

When I bought the plants, they both had lots of bulbs, ready to burst open.

One plant is doing really well. It's already boomed, and has lots of new growth on the top.

The other one is a mess.

The leaves are still dark green and vibrant but hanging straight down. The flowers have bloomed but haven't opened.

It's the droopiest thing I have even seen.

The good news is when I do water it, none of the leaves or blooms fall off. So, it's still pretty sturdy.

Is it too much water? Not enough? Too much sun? This plant does get a bit more sun than the other one, but they both spend a lot of time in the shade.

I haven't tested the soil.
