| Hi all,
I'm new to Rhododendrons but have wanted them in my garden for years now and I'm finally ready to do some research. I have a 12x12 area with a woodland background and northwestern exposure (some strong afternoon sun) that I would like to fill. My goal is to have a couple of large green-leafed plants, a couple of small maroon-leafed plants, plus possibly an azalea if I have room. There are huge gorgeous rhododendrons all through my neighborhood, so I think conditions are right in terms of soil and climate. I am also interested in interesting colors: peach, cream, gold, maybe a scarlet for accent. What is the best way to figure out what cultivars would work with this kind of a design. The variation is endless and I'm willing to do some research, but I am having trouble figuring out where to start. I'd appreciate any thoughts and advice. Lisa |
