Winter damage to tips of mountain laurel leaves

I have a pretty big mountain laurel that I planted last summer, watered as best I could. It survived (2 of my smaller did not, 2 look untouched). Every leaf has died at the end due to winter damage. It looks awful. It is in a very prominent spot. The outer 10% - 25% is browned, on all leaves. Will the brown part eventually fall off? Waiting for new leaves seems like it will never happen. Should I cut the tips off? (I know that's pretty OCD, but it looks that bad). Any advice?

Thanks a lot
Jill
