Azalea & Rhododendron

Suggestions, please: Rhodi companions

I have a small 6'x6' alcove along a walking path, too small for more than one rhodie: PJM cawtabiense 'Album'. Could anyone suggest companion plants to highlight the rhodie and create a small mixed-bed/vignette to provide interest along the walkway. Thank-you,

I'm confused. PJM and catawbiense album are two entirely different rhododendrons. Both will eventually grow awfully big for a 6x6' space, but PJM is smaller than c. album at maturity. Any members of the ericaceae hardy in Z4 would make good companion plants. Gaultheria (wintergreen), epigagea (arbutus) come immediately to mind as groundcover types, but there are many more.
