Confirming rhodo disease's damage

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for some assistance with respect to determining the extent of the damage caused by budblast to the rhodo in our backyard.

We moved into our house 1.5 yr ago. The rhodo bloomed last spring but did not this one. I found a number of brown buds with black seeds on them, went by our nearby garden store and they confirmed that they were bud blast.

So now I've gone through my rhodo and removed the budblast but I'm concerned that damage has extended to the branches -- is that possible? I couldn't easily find information online about this.

I've noticed that one some branches, the Style (I think that is the part of the flower) is either green, turning red and looks to be dying. On some branches, these are completely dead and some branches had 3-4 of them.

Some new branches appear to be going from a green to yellow and light brown color.

Thank you for your help,

Eve
