newbe with a question

I have a small azalea that I just put in my garden and it has bloomed fully (in fact was in full bloom when I planted it) and the flowers have browned and dried.

I want to make sure I take care of it appropriately so should I remove the dried flowers or do I leave them on.

Can I let the dried flowers fall on the soil as a mulch or compost of sort?

Oh, the azalea is Gerard's Rose and I have it positioned next to my deck facing south.

Thanks ever so much!
