A Tale of Two Gumpos . . .

MizLizzie

In mid-April as a part of a landscape upgrade, we installed 2 white Gumpos at either edge of a white garden bench. They both look amazingly healthy and are showing a little new growth. But in early June only one of the pair budded and bloomed -- it was covered in big white blooms The second had one bloom, deep in the greenery and almost impossible to see.

Is there such a thing as a non- or rarely blooming gumpo? Could I have two different kinds? This has happened to me before -- bought 3 azaleas labeled pink gumpos one fall and in the spring realized I'd come home with 2 pinks and a white. But they did all bloom . . .
