Thanks for your response. I'm new to the whole azalea, rhododendon thing: Do azaleas need more sun? The plants I'm looking for will go in a shady area that gets just a bit of filtered sun for a small part of the day. I'm worried an azalea would need more light. Maybe not?

Regarding light, azaleas need about 2 to 4 hours of sun light in the summer in order to produce flower buds for next year.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will have to watch and see how long I have sunlight and how strong it is in the bed I'm planning. I'm afraid it won't be enought but we'll see.
